Summer Workshop
Specialized test preparation workshops for COGAT and NNAT
Week 1: COGAT Grade 2
July 7-10, 9am-12pm
The COGAT assesses reasoning and problem-solving abilities in three key areas, which are referred to as batteries: Verbal (language), Quantitative (math), and Nonverbal (shapes and figures).
During this summer course students will play games, learn analogies, and work on problems that include math, shapes and figures. They will learn test taking strategies to help them feel more confident with taking any test.
Week 2: NNAT Grade 1
August 4-7, 9am-12pm
The NNAT assesses a child's thinking and reasoning abilities as opposed to what he or she has learned in school. In other words, the NNAT assesses how the student thinks versus what the student knows.
During this course we challenge students to think outside the box and use problem solving strategies to solve unfamiliar puzzles and solve complex patterns. They will learn test taking strategies to help them feel more confident with taking any test. Please understand that we do not teach the test.
